AEON Flushing Oil for Rotary Screw Air Compressors (20L)

Product Code: A92130130

Gardner Denver AEON Flushing Oil for Rotary Screw Air Compressors is a synthetic lubricant made from alkyl benzene, which is highly polar and therefore has excellent solubility characteristics. It is a specially formulated lubricant for flushing the oil-lubricated part of the compressor from contaminants. Adding this oil to the system before changing the used lubricant significantly reduces the amount of oxidation by-products and deposits in the compressor system.

Main characteristics:

Kinematic viscosity at 40°C: 46 mm²/s
Kinematic viscosity at 100°C: 5.3 mm²/s
Flash point: 182°С
Viscosity, ISO class 46
Solidification temperature: -42°С
Packaging capacity of Gardner Denver: 20 litres

AEON compressor flushing oil

When is it necessary to use a flushing oil?

  • If the compressor shows signs of premature oil wear,
  • the compressor overheats, there are signs that the oil circuit is not working correctly, the oil heat exchanger is partially blocked, the oil filter is blocked earlier than normal, the thermostatic element regularly fails.
  • during maintenance, it turns out that there is soot, varnish or rust on the internal elements,
  • when switching from one type of lubricant to another.

How flushing grease works:

  • The special low-viscosity base of the flushing grease ensures its easy circulation through the lubrication system and rapid dissolution of contaminant clots.
  • Highly effective detergent additives gently clean the internal surfaces of the screw unit, receiver and other elements from sludge and high-temperature deposits of grease, resins, varnishes, paraffin waxes and solid contaminants.
  • Antiwear and extreme pressure additives ensure safe cleaning of the oil circuit, even with prolonged flushing (up to 5-8 hours).

How to use:

Before replacing the old oil, add 10% flushing oil to the system, let the compressor run for 3 to 8 hours, depending on the degree of contamination. After that, drain the old, still hot oil as much as possible (at least 55°C), replace the oil filter and oil separator and add new oil.

Advantages of use:

  • Extended service life of the main compressor components and the compressor as a whole,
  • Saving you money by reducing energy consumption due to lower pressure drop across the separator and filter
  • Reducing the risk of unplanned compressor failures (due to failure of the oil cooler, screw block, thermostat, hoses, etc.), which leads to unplanned downtime, additional costs for repair and restoration of the equipment.

Laboratory Oil Sample Analysis

When you become an AEON oil user, you have access to Gardner Denver's sample testing facilities. By simply taking a sample from your air compressor and sending it to the lab, you will receive a simple and easy to understand report on important oil parameters such as: water content, viscosity, acid number and the presence of any metals in your oil. Receiving these reports and implementing recommendations for improvement can ensure that your air compressor achieves its maximum potential efficiency and service life.
