Operating Principle of CompAir CF Series Compressed Air Filters (Grade B)

CompAir CF Series Grade B filters are designed for fine purification of compressed air. The body of these filters is made of die-cast aluminum. Compressed air containing contaminants enters the filter, where it passes through a special filter element. This element effectively traps solid particles down to 0.1 microns, providing mechanical filtration. In addition, the filter removes coalesced liquid, water, and oil, ensuring a maximum remaining oil aerosol content of 0.03 mg/m³ at 21°C.

The principle of operation is based on the mechanical separation of particles and coalescence: air passes through a porous material where particles are trapped on the surface or inside the filter medium, and small liquid droplets combine into larger ones that then settle. Thanks to this, Grade B filters significantly reduce the amount of contaminants in the air stream, helping to protect downstream equipment such as dryers, valves, tools, and production lines from damage. The collected condensate and contaminants can be easily removed using an automatic float drain.
