Description Gardner Denver GDF0220LFV compressed air filter (Grade V)
Gardner Denver — a global leader in the manufacture of compressed air systems and treatment solutions — presents the industrial GDF Grade V filter series, specifically engineered to remove oil vapors and hydrocarbon odors in high-flow air lines. This is the final stage of air preparation, essential for industries with the highest purity requirements, such as food processing, pharmaceuticals, and electronics.
Grade V — Activated Carbon Adsorption. These filters ensure the removal of oil vapors and odors, guaranteeing a maximum residual oil content of <0.003 mg/m³.

Design Features
- Industrial Standard Fabricated Steel Housing
Unlike smaller cast models, this housing is constructed from welded structural steel. This ensures maximum mechanical stability for high-flow operations. Every housing undergoes rigorous pressure testing and complies with international safety standards for pressure vessels.
- Anti-Corrosion Coating
To protect against industrial environments, the steel housing undergoes a comprehensive treatment. Both internal and external surfaces are coated with a specialized protective layer that prevents rust and ensures a long service life (decades) in demanding industrial conditions.
- Float Drain
Flanged Grade V models are equipped with a reliable mechanical float drain. Since Grade V processes gaseous contaminants, liquid condensate should not be present in a properly maintained system; however, the drain serves to protect the system and remove accidental contaminants without pressure loss.
Operating Technology (Adsorption)
The air purification process in the industrial steel housing occurs as follows:
Flow Distribution: At the inlet, the air is evenly distributed to pass through the adsorption bed at an optimal velocity.
Adsorption Process: Compressed air passes through high-capacity activated carbon cartridges. Oil molecules and odors are "trapped" on the surface of the carbon’s micropores.
Carbon Dust Fixation: Internal layers of the element retain sorbent particles, ensuring odorless and technically pure air at the outlet.
Key Advantages
✅ Highest Purity Level: Reduces oil vapors to a residual content of <0.003 mg/m³.
✅ Industrial Durability: Welded steel housing designed for decades of operation.
✅ Energy Efficiency: Optimized carbon element design ensures a low pressure drop.
✅ Flange Reliability: Standard DN50 connection ensures a leak-proof and secure installation in large mains.
Installation Recommendations (IMPORTANT)
For the correct operation of the Grade V filter in a fabricated housing:
ONLY after a Grade H filter: This is a mandatory requirement. The air entering the carbon filter must be pre-purified of liquid oil and water. Without Grade H, the carbon will lose its properties almost immediately.
After the Dryer: It is recommended to install in a dry line to maximize the service life of the carbon cartridges.
