The Gardner Denver GDN2-027TT is a compact high-purity continuous nitrogen production system utilizing the PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) method. This technology is based on the property of Carbon Molecular Sieve (CMS) to selectively retain oxygen molecules at elevated pressure (7-10 bar), allowing nitrogen to pass through as the target product.


How does the Twin Tower configuration work?

The system consists of two adsorption columns operating in anti-phase mode. While the first column is in the adsorption phase (under 8 bar pressure, compressed air passes through the molecular sieve where oxygen, water vapor, and CO₂ remain in the adsorbent pores while nitrogen flows to the outlet), the second column is in the regeneration phase—the pressure is reduced to atmospheric, and the accumulated impurities are desorbed and vented into the atmosphere. Cycles switch every 60-90 seconds, ensuring a continuous nitrogen flow without drops in pressure or purity.


How is 99.9995% (5 ppm) purity achieved?

High-quality activated carbon CMS removes oxygen to residual concentrations of less than 5 ppm (parts per million). Additionally, the system utilizes:

  • Refrigerated drying of inlet air (dew point +3°C) — eliminating moisture that could damage the adsorbent.

  • Coalescing filtration — removing oil aerosols down to 0.01 mg/m³.

  • Integrated oxygen analyzer — constant real-time purity monitoring.

    Result: a stable inert environment for laser cutting, MAP packaging, and electronics soldering, where even 10 ppm of oxygen leads to oxidation and defects. Economics: An in-house generator replaces 40-60 cylinders per month, reducing nitrogen costs by 60-70% and ensuring full gas supply autonomy.
