At the invitation of EVAPCO, timed to coincide with a landmark event, our colleagues visited the company’s plant in Tongeren, Belgium. The visit was prompted by the grand opening of a new production facility where updated models of dry and adiabatic coolers will be manufactured.
The key new technology in these coolers is a stainless steel tube with aluminum fins, which is responsible for circulating the coolant within the unit’s system. The steel-and-aluminum tube represents a more reliable system that is not susceptible to electrochemical corrosion and withstands higher pressures than the previous technology of manufacturing copper-and-aluminum tubes.
The new facility will handle the full assembly cycle for the new coolers. Production meets the highest standards and employs the most efficient methods for processing and assembling the product. The new cooler models are designed for use in data centers, as well as in the pharmaceutical, food, and many other industries.
During the event, guests were also shown the EVAPCO open-fan cooling tower, the largest on the cooling equipment market. These cooling towers are designed for high-capacity thermal power plants. Its thermal capacity is 8 MW. The cooling tower’s housing is made of stainless steel. Thanks to its modular design, assembly is simplified and takes no more than 50 man-hours.
